Although or because we’re in tough times when it comes to obtaining credits or the economy in general, the condom industry does particularly well and sells more of their products than in times of a booming economy. Consequently it would be a wise idea to invest into birth control/sex technologies right now.

Just a few days ago we got an interesting comment on condomunity.com from a user (called Conxband) who’s looking for investments for the patent 6,453,903 B1 – Condom with Constrictive Band about Opening. Because the comment was a bit off-topic i decided to give it a whole post.

That’s the comment by Conxband:

At the end of the year 2008 the New York Times Magazine honored the spray-on condom as one of the years best innovations (they did not seem to care that it was actually an invention of the year before and one that would not come into being for quite some time, if at all). However its inventor Jan Vinzenz Krause has long moved on to new and easier ideas like his own new condom brand My.Size Condoms.

We took a first exclusive look at the outcome:

My.Size are condoms that come in 6 various sizes from 47 mm to 64 mm in width or from 160 mm to 223 mm in length. Even the wrappers are differently sized.

Durex recently released a clever (and hilarious) viral ad called Get it On, a video suggesting that you use condoms in all kind of situations.

LifeStyles SKYN the new product that was launched last year is well known in the condom world because of its material. It’s called Polyisoprene and its main features are the latex-free material and the soft feel.

However, as someone pointed out, it also protects its user from pregnancy (the star indicating birth?) and sexually transmitted diseases (the cross meaning death?). An interesting way to show these facts on a wrapper!

The NYC Condom, a condom that is freely available in many bars and locations across New York City, is a great success. In the first year of the program the Health Department of New York distributed 39 million condoms, which was three times more than the original goal for the first year.

According to the NYC Department of Health , “New York City remains the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the U.S.” The city has more AIDS cases than Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, and Washington, DC combined and over 100,000 New Yorkers have contracted HIV. Many of them are unaware of it.

That’s why New York needed a new concept. One that is still unique today: New York City created their own branded condoms to give away for free to everyone in need of protection.

The packaging is really sweet and would it not be for the for the references Rubber Pack and Latex Condoms on the front you’d probably take it for real.

A similar party drink failed to be marketed in Finland. Finland’s Product Control Agency found Mallaskoski’s campaign to be questionable and it had to be stopped. Billy Boy however already offers energy drinks with condoms and now launches new party drinks.
