After the kind mention on Environmental graffiti I think the time has come to also release our prepared, perhaps a bit more detailed graphics on condom prices around the world.
The survey is based on the average price of a Durex Elite 12 pack around the world (and not on other possibly cheaper possibilities). Interestingly enough the condoms in Ireland have a luxury tax on top of the price, which is absolutely ridicolous if you ask me.

Expensive condoms
These condoms are so expensive that the post title really IS appropriate. I think most of these are just overpriced.
Cheap condoms
Some of the cheaper destinations include Asia and some of the European countries.
US condom prices
When looking at the US comparison I’d say the New York 12 pack is far too expensive. But as long as you can get the New York branded condoms for free you’re doing something wrong anyways.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen condoms as expensive as you make out here in the UK. I’d say it’s closer to $12 (around 6 pounds ) for a 12 pack. I could be wrong though.
Also, condoms are free from family planning clinics, STI clinics and GPs (which are all free to attend)

@Steve: The data is taken from a survey of pricerunner uk, I think most of the prices are pretty accurate, but not all I agree. However have you realised that these are Durex Elite 12 packs? It’s not just the average condom.
I think if you ever need free condoms, you can get some in almost every country don’t you think?

Simon, Steve might be right about the prices, but not in that they are lower. I’d say they are higher. Remember that for Germany $ 5.48 is a fantasy price. Where does pricerunner get its stats anyway? ;)

@Mig: Thanks for the comment Mig :) I’m still investigating the Germany price though I’m still pretty sure that the rest of the prices are accurate. Apparently in Ireland they put a luxury tax on condoms, anyone here who can confirm?

condoms are wayy to expensive in New York, if they wanted people to use them more, they should make them cheaper and affordable.
