Have you ever left a condom anywhere it doesn’t belong? At least here’s the proof that people have done that long before you came along.
Two condoms of the 19th century have been found at the library of Salamanca University, Spain. The condoms made of pig intestines were hiding out in a medicine schoolbook of the 16th century and found only because of the recent reorganization of the historic part of the library, Spanish newspaper EL PAÍS reports. The condoms, both in perfect condition, can be seen in a university showcase (at least one of them).
Here’s a newer story of a 110-year-old condom being auctioned by the Austrian Dorotheum. The fish bladder condoms were sold for 2000 Euros in November 2010.
